Nightmares There is no such thing as a bad dream. All your dreams are opening you up to experience a level of self. All your fears, anxieties, and frustrations can emerge from your subconscious to present in a terrifying nightmare. A nightmare is a form of teaching that allows your fears to be escalated, blown right out of proportion or to find your hidden negative traits and the not-so-nice thoughts you try to suppress during the day. A nightmare can remain with us after sleep because it will trigger a physical and mental response. Your heart will begin to beat faster and pump blood faster though your veins and give you a heightened sense of awareness of the dream. Or you may have awoken from the dream screaming and scared not only yourself, the now nervy tired partner and family members sleeping within the household. Nightmares will definitely make an impression and that’s all good because that’s what your higher self wants to happen after you release it from your subconscious. For example: One of the common types of dreams people experience is feeling in danger, from a known or unknown person or entity. You can find your self running away from the perceived danger and the horrible images of the person/entity following you and trying to harm you. In your dream you will either try to hide or run away from the person or thing attempting to cause you harm (Similar to the fight or flight psychological meaning). This could identify that you are running away from a problem, or failing to verbalise your feelings and express what your needs are. By intuitively and consciously seeking to find an insight to the dream you begin to take ownership of the issue you are running away from. Of course, it is important to break the nightmare into small segments to see if there are other issues you need to address as well. One dream meaning – does not become an immediate fits all. Have you had a scary nightmare that forced you to change an area of your life that was not functioning properly? |
