I have lots of dreams where I am flying. This morning I had an unusual flying dream. As I was flying along above the contours of a river and an urban landscape, I stopped to ask my brother and friend, "Am I really flying?"
Their answer was surprising, "We've never actually seen you flying. Flying isn't possible. You are imagining it." I was annoyed and was unable to fly again in that dream. What message was my dream trying to tell me? |

Hello FirstLight,
I will try to help you unravel the meaning of your dream and break it down into separate sections. Let's start. HTML Code:
I have lots of dreams where I am flying You can also have this this feeling when you lift out of your body (OBE) and travel faster than the speed of light into different spiritual planes. If you refer to my about Vine section I share I had these type of experiences when I was a toddler and this was the start of my spiritual apprenticeship. I had the ability to lift out of my body and float around my bedroom and into different spiritual planes. There are some people who conciously hold the memory of an out of body experience and others who only recall flying in their dreams. Both are the same - one remembers the other doesn't. HTML Code:
As I was flying along above the contours of a river and an urban landscape, I stopped to ask my brother and friend, "Am I really flying?" Then in turn you hear your brother say: "flying isn't possible, you are imagining it". Now let’s take this comment and bring it back into your conscious life. Do you and your brother have totally different belief systems about life? Are you more of a free spirit then him? Does he lean towards having a more conservative approach to life? Do you sometimes feel as though your opinions are being quashed and you don't have a great deal of say? Your brother could represent your biological brother or your fellow spiritual brothers. Do you also question your own spiritual make up; are you sometimes in conflict with your self? When a young child has a real life spiritual encounter and tries to share this with an adult they can also be told they're imagining it. The child then begins to question their own truth. Hence, you begin to doubt your own self. I would say that the waking state can be more of an illusion then the sleep state, but that needs to be tackled in another article. I hope this has helped a little bit. Love and Light Vine |

Thank you for your guidance, Vine :)
My brother and I are quite different people. Yes, there have been aspects of my recent spiritual awakening where we haven't always been in agreement. There is another side to this dream that I didn't realize until after I wrote about it. I had a conversation a week ago with my brother and friend about a situation. They both said that I was imagining things and to let it go. So there may be an aspect of conflict within myself over this situation. |
