Bullying, Cyber Bullying Help & Suicide Suicide can be a taboo subject to discuss in society. But now more than ever we need to discuss the real societal ramifications and how this affects families, loved ones and friends who lose someone who has committed suicide. Did you know that suicide is now one of the leading cause’s of death by injury in Australia, which is ahead of car accidents and homicides? Cyber bullying seems to be one of the greatest causes of teenage suicides and this is the reason why I have placed so many videos on the forum to show the innocent loss of life of young teenagers who ended their life to such a senseless act. Social networks like My Space, Facebook etc. is now being used by ignorant members of society to harass, bully and urge people to commit suicide. As a spiritual medium I come into contact with a lot of spiritual beings that have found themselves needing assistance after committing suicide. The belief that all will be easier if a person commits suicide is not necessarily the case. A lot of people will regret the act and find themselves in a state of limbo – becoming stuck between one spiritual plane and the next. My role is to help them find peace with their passing and to try to help them to move to the other side. If you are dealing with bullying and you don’t know how to cope with this consistent irritating harassment seek help from your family, friends, counselors or teachers. There are also a lot of organisations you can turn to within your own country that will provide a willing ear and helpful advice. Realise you are not alone and there are people who want to help you. If you have lost a loved one to suicide and are trying to pick up the pieces the best help you can get is from a suicide support group, these people have experienced the same type of emotions you’re encountering and will embrace you in their arms and offer a great deal of comfort as you work through your grief. Bullying needs to be tackled by all areas of society, the young child bully can grow up to be an even larger bully as a teenager and when they enter the workforce. There are so many cases of bullying and spirit has warned that failure to address bullying in society then evolves into further hatred where bullied beings will then lash out at society by committing crimes like murder, arson, and mass shootings. We need to look at all of the societal issues bullying creates. Vine,
I read your last story about bullying and watched some of the videos and it had a huge impact on me. I just found this online from one of the leading newspapers overseas. It is demonstrating your guidance from spirit. Thank you for this sensitive topic. Soiree. Boy 5 burns house down because he is too scared to live there A five-year-old boy whose home is under attack from teenagers tried to burn his house down because he is too scared to continue living there. Last Updated: 5:09PM GMT 26 Feb 2009 Jimmy Davis from Swindon Photo: SWNS Jimmy Davis set fire to the curtains when he found a lighter downstairs and gutted his bedroom in the hope that it would destroy the house and force his family to move out. Firefighters extinguished the blaze before it spread to the rest of the house but all the belongings in his room were completely destroyed. Jimmy has been forced to cower in his bedroom as teenagers torment his father Sydney and throw stones and bricks at the house. Mr Davis, 65, has been targeted for abuse since confronting the gang with a plank of wood last year – which saw him dragged into court for possessing an offensive weapon. Pauline Davis, 43, said: "We keep speaking to him asking him why he did it and he said 'because I want to move, mum'. "That's what he told the police – he'd done it because he wants daddy and mummy to move. "Jimmy is scared to go outside because of all the youths that hang around on the estate. The Davis family have been plagued by gangs of youths ever since Mr Davis confronted them outside their home in Swindon, Wilts., last July Their house had come under a hail of sticks, mud and eggs when a brick was thrown through the glass of their back door. After waiting two hours for the police to arrive, Mr Davis grabbed a piece of wood and confronted them in their back garden. When the police arrived they arrested Mr Davis for possessing an offensive weapon. He appeared in court but the charges were eventually dropped. Since then the attacks have intensified and the Davis family and their neighbours frequently come under attack. Mr Davis, a retired builder, said: "Something needs to be done to stop these kids. They are out there every night. "This is an ongoing thing. I have seen cars being damaged and windows being put through. "One of my neighbours even had a seven-month-old baby in their kitchen when a brick came through the window. It showered glass across the baby's face. "When these kids see the police they are off through the alleyways. The police have got no chance of catching them." |

There was an article in today's Herald Sun about Cyber Bullying. Parents are being warned to monitor their children's emails, mobile phone messages, social pages (the list goes on) due to an increased level of cyber bullying.
In my days you used to have a little quip as a joke but it seems this bulk bullying is out of control. Poor little buggers giving up like that.... |

I agree with what you said Vine, the child bully becomes an even big bully during his or her teens and even when they enter the workforce. I have seen firsthand the damage of workplace bullying, alienating a person socially and that forces the person to resign. If he doesn't, he becomes a victim of rumor mongering and other negativity in the work place!

There was a guy I knew who jumped off a bridge because he was cyber bullied. He believed someone was going to kill him and his family. His family are now trying to get changes to get the bridge better guarded so it will not happen again.

I will try to find out more information about his conditon from spirit and see if we can get a whole group of people to send out their loving thoughts to aid him in his recovery.
He is a great ambassador for helping the youth in Victoria and I recently heard him on a radio station talking about youth issues. I wasn't aware of his illness before you placed this on the forum. Thank you for letting me know Vine |

Here's another bullying real life story that ended in tragedy. Spread the word bullying is unacceptable. Rest in peace Brodie Rae Constance Panlock.
Soiree __________________________________________________ _____________ A young waitress who killed herself by jumping off a building was the victim of systematic bullying by co-workers at a Melbourne cafe, a court has heard. Brodie Rae Constance Panlock, 19, was subjected to humiliating and relentless bullying by other workmates at Cafe Vamp in Hawthorn, in Melbourne's east, before her suicide in September 2006. Former workmates Nicholas Smallwood, Rhys MacAlpine and Gabriel Toomey have all pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court to failing to take reasonable care for the health and safety of persons. The cafe's owner Marc Luis Da Cruz and his company MAP Foundation have pleaded guilty to two charges, including failing to provide and maintain a safe working environment. The court was crowded with tearful friends and family of Ms Panlock as they heard distressing details of the ordeal Ms Panlock went through at Cafe Vamp. read rest of the story by clicking Yahoo link below. http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/latest/...aitress-court/ |

Company fined $200k for waitress's bullying Posted 11 minutes ago A magistrate has fined a Melbourne cafe company $220,000 over a workplace bullying case that resulted in a waitress committing suicide. Brodie Panlock, a 19-year-old waitress, took her own life in 2006 after enduring persistent bullying by her colleagues at Cafe Vamp in Hawthorn. Company director Marc Da Cruz and three of his employees, Nicholas Smallwood, 26, now of Queensland, Rhys MacAlpine, 28, of Kooyong, and Gabriel Toomey, 23 of Abbotsford all pleaded guilty to charges under the occupational health and safety act. The court was told Smallwood and MacAlpine mentally and physically bullied Ms Panlock during work hours and even taunted her about a previous suicide attempt. Prosecutor Gary Livermore told a pre-sentence hearing last week that witnesses had seen Smallwood and MacAlpine pour fish oil into Ms Panlock's kitbag and then pour it over her hair and clothes, reducing her to tears. He also said they engaged in indirect bullying, such as calling her fat and ugly. Source: ABC online Author: Unknown Direct Link: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...section=justin |

Two and a half months after a 15-year-old Irish girl living in Massachusetts killed herself because of what prosecutors are calling "relentless" bullying, nine teenagers have now been charged in connection with her death.
CBS News correspondent Whit Johnson reports the teenagers - two males, seven females, three of whom are juveniles - are facing a range of charges, from statutory rape,; violation of civil rights with bodily injury, criminal harassment and stalking. Prosecutors are also talking more about the intensity of the torment Phoebe Prince endured in the days leading up to her suicide. Bullied and harassed almost from her first day at South Hadley High School, 15-year-old Phoebe Prince hanged herself in her family's home in January. Investigators believe that the bullying started after Prince was ostracized following a brief relationship with a well-known boy at school. The abuse quickly moved from the schoolyard to cyberspace, where Prince was sent hurtful text messages and harassed on Facebook. Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel, who announced the charges Monday, said the events before Phoebe's death on Jan. 14 were "the culmination of a nearly three-month campaign of verbally assaultive behavior and threats of physical harm" that was widely known among the student body. On the day she died, Prince had been bullied in the library, threatened in school hallways, and had a drink thrown at her while she walked home. "The investigation revealed relentless activity directed toward Phoebe designed to humiliate her and to make it impossible for her to remain at school," said Scheibel. "The bullying for her became intolerable." On CBS' "The Early Show" educator Barbara Coloroso said bullying should not be written off as "just part of growing up." "It's about utter contempt for another human being," she said. "And it's so important that we stop that in its tracks." Price's suicide drew outrage from parents, who said school officials should have done more. "They knew that there was a problem and they just ignored it. That's telling me that they're not doing their jobs," said parent Wendy Moran. On Monday prosecutors said some faculty and administrators will not be charged, even though authorities say they knew about the bullying and that Phoebe's mother brought her concerns to at least two of them. Prosecutors say although the school was aware of the bullying, failure to act prior to Prince's death did not amount to criminal behavior. The nine people charged are expected to appear in court in the coming weeks. School officials released a statement saying they will not comment until they meet with the district attorney. Scheibel said the case is still under investigation and that one other person could be charged. It wasn't immediately known Monday whether the teens who have been charged have attorneys. Scheibel said the harassment began in September, occurring primarily in school and in person, although some of it surfaced on Facebook and in other electronic forms. At least four students and two faculty members intervened to try to stop it or report it to administrators, she said. Schiebel refused to discuss the circumstances of the rape charges. No school officials are being charged because they had "a lack of understanding of harassment associated with teen dating relationships," and the school's code of conduct was interpreted and enforced in an "inconsistent" way, Scheibel said. "Nevertheless, the actions - or inactions - of some adults at the school are troublesome," she said. Luke Gelinas, whose two sons attend South Hadley High School, said one son who was in Phoebe's French class was "deeply saddened and hurt" upon hearing of the girl's death. On CBS' "The Early Show" this morning. Galinas said news of the arrests has brought a mixture of feelings: "I think we're all relieved and saddened at the same time," said Galinas. "Relieved, of course, for Phoebe's family and relieved that this didn't get swept under the rug like a lot had anticipated. "And also saddened for the families, saddened for our loss of Phoebe, and saddened, also, for the parents of the children whose names have been published with the charges next to them. This has not been easy on the community and it's not easy on those parents this morning. And my heart goes out to them, as well." Galinas has called for the resignation of the school's principal and the superintendent. "Well, from the start . . . it's been the constant message of blaming the victim and shoot the messenger. We've tried to bring accountability, that's been our message right from the beginning. The girls involved in this, sure, they were wrong. But they're kids. These are grown men that are paid to do a job." A message seeking comment was left Monday for South Hadley Schools Superintendent Gus A. Sayer. Phoebe was born in Bedford, England and moved to County Clare, Ireland, when she was 2. She moved last summer to South Hadley, home to Mount Holyoke College, because the family had relatives there. Her family has since moved away and could not immediately be located for comment. Scheibel spoke for them at a news conference to announce the charges. "The Prince family has asked that the public refrain from vigilantism in favor of allowing the judicial system an opportunity to provide a measure of justice for Phoebe," she said. Some students accused of participating in the bullying have been disciplined by the school and will not be returning to classes. The Massachusetts Legislature cited Prince's death and the apparent suicide of 11-year-old Carl Walker-Hoover of Springfield last year when members passed anti-bullying legislation earlier this month. South Hadley is among several college towns in western Massachusetts that pride themselves on their urbane cultural offerings, good schools and safe streets. After Phoebe's death, the community formed an anti-bullying task force that drew more than 400 people to its first meeting in February. Robert Judge, a South Hadley selectman and task force member, said hundreds of people have become involved in hope that something good comes from the incident. "Like most towns, we like to think of ourselves as a good place to live, and then this happens and your reputation is sullied nationally and even internationally, and people look at you differently, and they make assumptions," Judge said. Scheibel said the teens will be issued summonses to appear in court on yet-undetermined dates. The teens who face criminal charges under the indictments announced Monday are: • Sean Mulveyhill, 17, of South Hadley. Charged with statutory rape, violation of civil rights resulting in bodily injury, criminal harassment and disturbance of a school assembly. A woman who answered the phone at his home Monday would not identify herself and told The Associated Press, "You don't know the full story." • Kayla Narey, 17, of South Hadley. Charged with violation of civil rights resulting in bodily injury, criminal harassment and disturbance of a school assembly. A message left at a number listed to a Narey family was not immediately returned; another line was out of service. • Austin Renaud, 18, of Springfield. Charged with statutory rape. A telephone number could not immediately be found. • Ashley Longe, 16, of South Hadley. Charged as a youthful offender with violation of civil rights resulting in bodily injury. A telephone number could not immediately be found. • Sharon Chanon Velazquez, 16, of South Hadley. Charged as a youthful offender with stalking and violation of civil rights resulting in bodily injury. There was no telephone listing. • Flannery Mullins, 16, of South Hadley. Charged as a youthful offender with stalking and violation of civil rights resulting in bodily injury. A message left at a Mullins home was not immediately returned. Three 16-year-old South Hadley girls, whose names were not released, face delinquency charges that include the civil rights offense, criminal harassment and disturbance of a school assembly. A bullied teenager out walking with his father said 'Bye Dad' then seconds later jumped to his death from a motorway bridge, an inquest heard today.
Matthew Miller, 17, from Leyland, Lancashire, was walking with his father to 'clear his head' when he passed the school where he had suffered months of physical and emotional abuse, the hearing was told. A quiet, studious and sensitive youngster, despite being an 'exemplary' pupil, school prefect and destined to study computing and business at university, the youngster told his father the school had 'ruined my life' then ran to a bridge over the M6 motorway and leapt over the side. Kevin Miller, 67, the boy's father, repeatedly broke down in tears as he told the inquest at Preston Coroner's Court about the night of his son's death. The pair set off from home in Leyland at about 10.30pm on January 2 this year. 'The reason he used to want to walk in the evening and take me with him was he did not see any of those people that used to bother him,' Mr Miller, a retired plumber, said. 'He was like a frightened rabbit really, they got him into that sort of state. It was not unusual, we did everything together.' Father and son walked to Balshaw's High School in Leyland, where Matthew had been a pupil until 18 months before his death when he went on to study A-Levels at another college. 'We got to the perimeter fence at the school and he started to go on as he had done many times before, chunnering on about this place ruining his life and he kept going on about it,' Mr Miller said. 'I told him don't worry about that, it's well behind you, these people that used to torment you, they have not got into further education and you will be the one with the good job and if they ever come to you for a job, you will know what to do. You will come out on top lad, don't let it bother you.' Mr Miller said his son then "quickened his pace" then, 'took off'. 'He said, "Bye Dad". I knew there was something wrong then, because I shouted after him. I ran after him shouting, "Matthew! Matthew!".' The youngster ran up the steps of a motorway bridge and 'vaulted' over the top of the five-foot fence. He landed on the middle lane of the northbound section of the motorway and was run over by a car. 'I could not believe it,' Mr Miller added. 'I said: "Oh My God". He said Dad twice, "Dad, Dad" that was the only thing he said afterwards.' Cause of death was given as multiple injuries and there were no traces of drugs or alcohol in the body, the inquest heard. The father-of-four was then asked about the abuse his son had suffered while at school. He said although his son had left Balshaw's school 18 months before his death the bullying had affected him deeply. Mr Miller said when his son first started at the school he would be 'bashed' against lockers by other pupils. 'He was a quiet lad you see, I always brought him up never to retaliate and not to get into trouble. He would never want to get into trouble,' Mr Miller said. 'Over the course of his education there, they used to pick on him over his appearance, he was a very good looking boy, and ridicule him and taunt him. 'He used to look at the mirror (and say),"Does my ears stick out?". Over a period of time this taunting built up in a child's mind.' Mr Miller said his son also had his head cut open by another pupil with a stick on the school tennis courts and had to be taken to hospital, but this was put down as an accident. Matthew's parents went in to see teachers after another incident where their son was hit over the head with a litre pop bottle. But then incidents began at their own home with the house pelted with eggs, prank calls to their home telephone number and windows being repeatedly banged on. Mr Miller said he had twice reported matters to police before adding: 'They used to stand up my road and jeer. I chased them once and I got into trouble with the police, but they class it as low level but it is not low level to the person it's directed at, especially a child.' After leaving school to do A-Levels he got distinctions for his work but the scars remained, the inquest heard. 'The thoughts kept coming back to him really, haunting him, I think just stuck in his mind.' Jo Venn, the head teacher of Balshaw's High School said the school had only been made aware of a limited number of events concerning Matthew while at school. About Cybersmart Detectives Cybersmart Detectives is an innovative online game that teaches children key internet safety messages in a safe environment. Children work online in real time liaising with community professionals to solve an internet-themed problem. The activity is based in the school environment, and brings together a number of agencies with an interest in promoting online safety for young people, including State and Federal Police, education, government and child welfare advocates. In the scenario, children assume the role of an onlooker in their current year at a fictional local secondary school. They are concerned about the welfare of a student at the school, particularly with that student's online activities. Guided by a series of clues, children work collaboratively in teams to solve the mystery of what is worrying the student, and why. 'Cybersmart Guides' respond to the questions and theories posed by the students, and guide the teams through each of the 'clues'. As the scenario unfolds, the children discuss the risks of certain online and offline behaviours, and ways of managing those risks. Although the scenario presented in the activity is simulated, the sense of urgency that excites a class of children taking part is very real. By the end of the activity children will have learned some valuable lessons about some of the risks associated with internet use, especially useful tips for chatting safely online. More importantly, the issues that lie behind the story will have been discussed with professionals who deal with similar issues on a daily basis. Cybersmart Detectives was initially developed by UK-based child advocacy agency Childnet International, and until 2005, operated under the name of Net Detectives. The activity is now independently operated by E-ngagelive. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (the ACMA), by agreement with E-ngagelive , has adapted the activity for use in Australian schools under the name Cybersmart Detectives. View the Cybersmart Detectives promotional video (9.50Mb launches new window) for an overview of the online activity and feedback from participating children and guides. Key Safety Messages * People who you meet online may not be who they say they are. * Children should never give out personal information when they are chatting online. * If children want to meet face-to-face with someone they have chatted with, they should always take a parent with them. * Parents should be involved in and monitor their children's use of the internet, especially chat rooms. How does Cybersmart Detectives work? Learning to stay cybersmart: Victorian launch of the cybersmart detectives activity Cybersmart detectives in action. Victorian launch of the cybersmart detectives activity. The hour long activity is provided free of charge to schools, and targets children in the last year of primary school, 11 - 12 year age group. Teams from various schools are linked via a central website on a secure server in the United Kingdom, through which the Cybersmart Detectives activity is run. Teachers register their teams with the ACMA to take part in the activity. On the day of the activity, teams access a secure interactive area of the website called the 'action centre'. This area operates like an internet chat room or bulletin board. Messages relating to the unfolding story are sent out periodically from the UK based server. In schools, pupils work in teams of up to three students, receiving messages and responding to them in a proprietary chat room interface. Children are able to interact in real time with internet safety experts working in 'virtual control rooms' located throughout Australia. The Cybersmart Guides are available throughout the session to answer questions and give advice. All messages are moderated by the 'Central Control Room' organised by the ACMA. There is no facility for student teams to communicate directly with each other or anyone outside the activity. The ACMA provides additional resource material for teachers and schools in the form of safety brochures and follow-up activities to reinforce the internet safety message. Here we have a classic example of spiritual bullying, with a deliberate media attempt to cause sensation in the Australian election. Australia's first female prime minister, Julia Gillard is confronted by Mark Latham, hired by the Nine network as a journalist to report on the Australia Election contenders. Instead of the Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard being approached in a civil and respectful way, Mark Latham pushes his way forward, through the media pack and then proceeds to aggressively confront Julia Gillard about his reasons for being in the media. If you look at the above video you see there is no personal space between Prime Minister Gillard and Mark Latham. This is classic bullying and although the CEO of Channel Nine (Nine Network) has apologised for Mark Latham's behavior, they have failed to pull him off their 60 Minutes show this evening. Why? Why would a media organisation like Channel Nine, want to create such a media sensation for their news coverage program, I asked spirit? I was guided that their was a deliberate media ownership attempt to interfere in Australian politics. They guided me to look at who actually owns Channel Nine and what self interests lay beneath the political stunts. On investigation I found that the majority of ownership of Channel Nine Australia is owned by Citigroup (through CVC Asia Pacific), a multinational company that has been shown to want to enter and buy larger shares in Australia's media and also has certain business interest in Australian Health. Spirit has guided continually how our world is influenced by negative bullying in our schools, families, workplaces and now we need to take this to another level, there is also corporation bullying that is deliberately targeted to interfere in the democratic process of electing a government. I was shocked to be guided on how prevalent this is, and why as spiritual beings we need to research some of the companies that are involving themselves in politics around the world and what are their reasons for doing so? These media sensations are a way of taking the public eyes off the real current and world issues we are facing. It doesn't show the electoral voter any form of respect and most importantly it is designed to force viewers to watch personality against personality. As spiritual beings we deserve better from our media. In the energy of Oneness, we all deserve to be shown respect and a woman, be that a Prime Minister or a canteen lady should not be bullied in their place of work or social environment. What do you think about this spiritual guidance? |
